MuscomES School Management System ("we", "us", or "our") provides a school management platform used by schools, teachers, students, and parents. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

• Account information: name, email address, phone number, role (admin, teacher, student, parent), and login credentials.
• School data: academic records, attendance, assignments, exam results, fees and payment records, timetables, and communications (announcements, chat, diary entries) processed on behalf of the school.
• Device and usage information: IP address, browser/app type, device identifiers, and usage logs collected automatically for security and analytics purposes.
• Payment information: when a school subscribes to a paid plan or a fee payment is made online, payment details are processed directly by our payment partners (Stripe, Razorpay, Paystack, Flutterwave); we do not store full card numbers on our servers.

2. How We Use Information

• To provide, operate, and maintain the platform's features (attendance, exams, fees, messaging, and reporting).
• To communicate with users, including service notifications, announcements, and support responses.
• To send push notifications via Firebase Cloud Messaging and messages via WhatsApp, where enabled by the school.
• To process payments and manage subscriptions.
• To maintain the security, integrity, and performance of the platform.
• To comply with legal and regulatory obligations.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We share data only with:

• The school administering the account, since data is entered and managed on the school's behalf.
• Service providers who help us operate the platform (hosting, payment processing, push notifications, messaging), under contractual confidentiality obligations.
• Authorities, where required by law.

4. Children's Data

Because MuscomES School Management System is used by schools, it may process data belonging to students who are minors. Such data is entered and controlled by the school, and parents/guardians may contact their school or us to review, correct, or request deletion of their child's data.

5. Data Retention

We retain account and school data for as long as the school's account is active, or as needed to comply with legal, regulatory, or academic record-keeping obligations. Upon a valid account deletion request, we delete personal data within 30 days, except where retention is legally required.

6. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. You can submit a deletion request at any time via our Delete Account page.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
